Engagement is what we, as small business owners aim for when we put out content to social media or through our blog posts.
Whilst the number 1 aim is to obviously get leads or sales of our products and services, engagement significantly aids in this aim.
When people engage with your content, it is shown to a wider selection of your audience.
There is a common misconception that when you post something on social media, it is shown to ALL of your followers/connections. I'm afraid this simply is not the case. Depending on the platform, your content can be shown to as little as 1-5% of your audience!
However, you can increase the number of accounts your content is shown to, by putting out content that provides value or encourages engagement.
Here are 100 social media post questions that will give you some ideas and hopefully increase the engagement on your posts!
One crucial point here. When you ask your audience a question, be sure to give YOUR answer or opinion to it. By sharing your own answer or opinion to the question, you will encourage more people to share theirs. Otherwise, it simply comes across as lazy posting and not a genuine attempt to start a virtual conversation.
