5 Jobs You Should Hire A Copywriter For
Updated: Apr 7, 2021

I get it. Honestly, I do.
Your business is like your baby, and you’ve been the sole face and voice of your brand from the very beginning. Every success is owed to your passion, expertise and shining personality. So it’s easy to understand why you’d be reluctant to hand over a major task like copywriting to a complete stranger.
Being the mom of two small children, I know how hard it can be to let go. I’m sure that when their first day of school arrives, I’ll be holding onto their tiny hands for dear life as they make their way over to their new teacher.
But I also realize that I am DEFINITELY not the right person to teach them Math or Geography. I am going to (reluctantly) leave that job to the experts. And my children will thrive because of it.
If you want your business to thrive, here are 5 tasks you should consider handing over to a copywriter:
1. Web Copy
First impressions are important, and it only takes a few seconds for someone viewing your website to decide whether or not to stick around. Silly spelling and grammar mistakes can harm your online presence by making your business seem unprofessional.
A copywriter will ensure that your web copy is error-free and interesting. They will also be able to implement changes to improve your site’s ranking and use language that resonates with your target audience.
2. Newsletters

People love a good behind the scenes look into their favourite brands. Newsletters are a great way to connect with your audience and make your company seem friendly and relatable.
Copywriters are great at crafting emails that engage and provide the reader with valuable content. Receiving weekly or monthly newsletters will keep your business at the forefront of the reader’s minds, increasing the likelihood of future purchases.
3. Email Sequences
Sometimes, when I don’t feel like cooking dinner, I will start talking to my husband about delicious food that I am incapable of cooking. I’ll casually mention that our local delivery company sent me a coupon for a discount, or that I saw a commercial featuring some mouth-watering new pizza.
A few minutes later, I let him know that I’m going to start cooking our (now very boring sounding) dinner, knowing that I have planted the seed. This usually results in us ordering food and saving cooking for another day.
A good email sequence will “plant the seed” in the mind of its reader, warming them up for the CTA (Call to Action) that will arrive in the last email. Copywriters are experts at eliciting emotion through storytelling and writing in a persuasive manner. They will do a far better job at writing a high converting email sequence than someone who doesn’t write professionally.
4. About Me Pages
Imagine you went to the store to buy a new washing machine. The store assistant walks over, then proceeds to tell you where they went to school, how many degrees they have and where they met their significant other. In other words, a bunch of information completely unrelated to your needs.
Unfortunately, too many About Me pages read exactly like the above scenario. While it’s good to touch on your history and share your values, the most important information that you need to impart is how you can solve your reader’s problem.
A copywriter will be your guiding hand in including information that is helpful and relevant to the person viewing your About Me page.
5. Sales Pages
There is no room for vagueness on a sales page. Creating an incredible product won’t matter a bit if no one understands what your product is or why they should want it.
From your headline to your Call to Action, it must be absolutely clear what you are selling and how it will benefit the buyer. A copywriter will be able to anticipate questions and objections that your audience may have, and will know what kind of information to include to make your page successful.

Summary
If you are struggling with a full plate, hiring a copywriter can be the stress reliever that you so badly need in the new year.
While it might seem scary at first, trusting a professional with your writing needs can hugely benefit your business in the long run.
Instead of spending hours trying to come up with the perfect words for your website or emails, you’ll work with a skilled writer who already has an arsenal of winning formulas ready to take your business to the next level.
